For nearly 68 years, Dunlap Livestock Auction has been the place where buyers and sellers meet to participate in one of the last true price discovery mechanisms in the United States...the livestock auction. Competitive marketing allows the seller to achieve the highest possible price available for their livestock in an auction setting.
We are contacting you with some upcoming changes in the beef packing industry.
Beginning January 1st, 2019 Tyson Beef Packers will no longer accept cattle from producers that are not Beef Quality Assurance “BQA” Certified.
This applies to all of Tyson purchases—private country purchases, contract cattle, and auction purchases.
To comply with these industry changes Dunlap Livestock Auction is scheduling a BQA training session on Thursday, November 29th from 6-8 pm.
This training will take approximately 2 hours and will make the attendee fully compliant. We will be serving a meal beginning at 5pm.
There is no cost to attend but please call our office to let us know if you can come.
§ These changes do not apply to feeder cattle or slaughter cow/bull sellers.
§ We fully expect the other major packers to follow suit with the BQA certification in the future.
§ Without a certification on file at Dunlap Livestock Auction Tyson Beef Packers will not be able to bid on your fat cattle.
If you have any questions on this important industry change, please call our office @ 712-643-5761.
